This font was designed based on a lettering found on an old postcard that marks the year of 1883. According to the research collected from several models of postcards of the same genre, the typeface varies between 1883 and 1889. According to a study conducted by Almanack Laemmbert on the fonts typographic, Tuscan typefaces are characterized by curved forked serifs, a recurrent feature in 19th century advertisements. Tuscan fonts were already visible in the work of calligrapher Furius Dionysius, where his style was copied over the years, emerging as a success in English type foundry. This ornate style was very striking in the Victorian era to make advertising more attractive.
